100630: It’s Not Rocket Science! The Quick & Easy Way to Implement SoD & Achieve Compliance in ERP Cloud
Wednesday, September 15 | 12:15pm – 1:15pm ET
Presented by Mike Ward, CEO & Preston Leftwich, Technical Manager at Q Software
Your cloud-based ERP is designed to be flexible and support your business efficiently – but can the same be said of your audit tools? How much time does it take to identify SoD conflicts and provide evidence for your auditors?
At this session, we’ll demonstrate a way to produce accurate SoD/audit reports whenever you need them and receive the results within hours – with no technical effort.
It comes with a comprehensive set of seeded SoD rules, designed by ERP auditing experts. You can tailor the rules to suit your company’s needs or upload your own SoD rules if you already have them. The in-depth, automated SoD analysis takes all application access routes into account, so it’s much more accurate than using SQL and spreadsheets, yet much more affordable than a complex GRC platform. The audit reports provide clear evidence for auditors or business stakeholders.
Find out how to make SoD in ERP Cloud easy and put an end to painful security audits.
Objectives:
- Find out how to report quickly and accurately on SoD violations in your ERP
- Discover an efficient way to produce evidence to satisfy your auditors.
100120: Ready For the Off: How Masco Went Live on Oracle ERP Cloud with Great Security
Wednesday, September 15 | 4:45pm – 5:45pm ET
Presented by Aarti Venkatesh, Director, Global Business Services & Financial Systems at Masco & Preston Leftwich, Technical Manager at Q Software
With 2 months left before go-live on Oracle ERP Cloud, the Masco applications team needed to provide Audit with evidence of effective security & SoD controls so they would sign off the system. The big problem was how to do it without derailing the project?
They used QCloud Audit, which analyzed their system and identified security problems. Up against a tight deadline, they decided to carry out an intensive “find-and-fix” exercise. They ran QCloud to identify SoD conflicts and other weaknesses so they could resolve them, then repeated the audit/remediate cycle until the system was clean and ready for sign-off. They continue to use the service for their monthly audit cycle.
Aarti Venkatesh discusses the challenges and explains how they tackled them efficiently to meet their deadline. She also shares tips on keeping the system secure after the go-live.
Objectives:
- Learn about the approach that Masco used to implement approved controls very rapidly
- Hear tips on efficient ways to provide appropriate evidence to Audit both before and after Go-live.
100100: Is Your Cloud Application Security Fit For Purpose?
Thursday, September 16 | 3:30pm – 4pm ET
Presented by Mike Ward, CEO at Q Software
As people adopt ERP Cloud applications, they usually overlook the critical problem of Application Security – often until it is too late! Fraud can be a major consequence of that – but some organizations face the more immediate problem of Audit asking questions that are very expensive to answer.
The easy first step to understanding the status of your application security is to run an audit (or an assessment as some audit firms will tell you). With just an hour’s technical setup, you can get answers to simple questions, such as “How effective are our Segregation of Duties controls?” and “What access do users have?” To gain these insights requires very low commitment of effort and cost, and the assessment can even be carried out as a one-off. If you have it all under control, no pressure, no need to panic. But it is best to know!
Objectives:
- Learn about a quick and easy way to find answers to auditors’ questions about access and security
- Find out how to uncover hidden risks in your ERP system that could leave you vulnerable to fraud
- Discover how to gain insights that will help you to improve your internal controls.
